AFRICA BY RADIO PRAYER LETTER DECEMBER 2009 |

Christmas Greetings
“Where is the one who has been born King
of the Jews? We saw His star in the East
and have come to worship Him”.
Matthew 2 v2
Dear Friends
God used a star to send a message to the wise men about the birth of Jesus, today we have radio to send the same message that the Saviour has been born! Let us pray that our radio broadcasts across Africa will result in people worshipping Jesus, just as the wise men did when they heard the news.In this prayer letter are requests from our colleagues working across Africa, let us bear them up in prayer as well.

As you prepare to broadcast the Good News of our Saviour’s birth this Christmas may you know the Lord’s blessing on your ministries, staff and families.

Africa’s first-ever meeting
of Christian broadcasters and media practitioners from across the content,
has been heralded a great success by delegates. More than a hundred
participants and day visitors, representing many countries, organisations
and individuals from Sub-Saharan Africa and abroad, gathered in Johannesburg
from 17th to 19th September, to learn, interact
and celebrate how God is using media to transform communities and society.

AFRICA BY RADIO PRAYER LETTER APRIL 2009 |
|
|
|
Dear
Friends
Already
in this year we have seen some notable events, a Global recession,
conflict in Gaza, major earth quakes in Italy and Mexico, flooding in
Australia, a new USA president with new international policies,
recent world concern about the spread of Swine Flu.
Equally
notable is what God has been doing, South Africa saw almost 200 000
men gather for the Mighty Men conference, which encourages men to be
Christ’s leaders in their homes, the Orissa region in India saw
peaceful elections where Christians were able to vote despite former
persecution. A Wycliffe Bible Translators press release says that
they have, since October
2008, received $117 million to press ahead with a billion-dollar
effort to provide literacy and humanitarian aid for ALL the world's
small language groups in need of language development by 2025. All
this in an economically depressed environment.
And
there’s more from Africa, please read on for other prayer and
praise items from some of your radio colleagues and a reminder about
the AbR Continental Convention 17-19 September, 2009.
God
bless
Your

Dear
Friends
Please
find the prayer requests received from some of our colleagues in AbR.
We hope you will forgive the poor electronic translations we offer
for some of the French and Portuguese submissions but trust they will
still enable us to pray about the needs that are expressed.
God
bless you, Sandy
