AFRICA BY RADIO PRAYER LETTER JULY 2007 Version imprimable Suggérer par mail

Dear Friends

Prayer is such a valuable commodity. James exhorts us in James 5v13 that if anyone is in trouble, he should pray and if anyone is happy he should sing songs of praise if anyone is sick he should call the elders.  The Lord is interested in every aspect of our lives and is just a conversation away.  In the AbR family this quarter our prayer requests reflect the joys, sorrows and needs that any family faces; thank you for praying with the rest of the “family”.

At this time we especially remember the Transworld Radio Family who suffered the loss of two excellent leaders, Rev Stephen Boakye Yiadom and Rev Andrew MacDonald.  These men of faith also served on the AbR Executive and we deeply miss their wisdom and Godly, cheerful input although we rejoice that they are with their Lord.  Please remember their wives and families in prayer.

AbR meets again late September, we will be announcing the venue shortly to encourage as many of you in the region to make plans to join us for the Associate Meeting. If it is at all possible we would be very pleased to meet you there and have the opportunity to share more about how we can work together in AbR to reach Africa with the Gospel.

Thank you and God bless,

Sandy

*Congo Bukavu

Radio Neno la Uzima in Bukavu had their on air studio and transmitter room destroyed by fire at the night between the 21st and 22nd of July.  The fire was caused by too high voltage in the electricity supply. The voltage regulator could not handle it and caught fire instead. The night watchman noted the fire, and managed with the help of some other people to put out the fire before it had destroyed the entire building. After only five days the station was back on air, still from charred rooms. Let us thank God that not everything was destroyed, and let us pray that our friends will feel God's help in rebuilding what was destroyed as well as God's provition for financial needs.

Let us pray for new ideas on how to use this tool even more effectively.
