De chers amis de prière nous étions heureux de recevoir des demandes de ceux qui pouvaient envoyer leurs demandes po de prière. C'est toujours un encouragement pour savoir que Dieu entend et la prière de réponses mais c'est également une bénédiction pour savoir que nous ne sommes pas seuls dans nos luttes, nos frères et les soeurs en Christ prient avec nous et nous encouragent à continuer à partager les bonnes nouvelles. On lui écrit :  » J'ai cru ; donc j'ai parlé ». Avec cet même esprit de la foi nous croyons également et parlons donc, parce que nous savons que celle qui a élevé le seigneur Jésus des morts également nous élèvera avec Jésus et nous présentera avec toi en sa présence. Tout c'est pour votre avantage (de l'auditeur), de sorte que la grace qui atteint de plus en plus des personnes puisse faire déborder le thanksgiving à la gloire de Dieu. 2 cor 4V13-15.

• Give thanks that most ACB broadcasters are experiencing a time of stability and growth.

• Pray for new Christian Community radio stations: One that has been licensed in Gauteng, and others that are seeking broadcast licenses in Gauteng, KZN and NW province. Pray that the Lord will open the way for them to broadcast.

• Pray for KNI Radio in Durban / Pietermaritzburg, operating now for over 10 years on occasional event licenses. Pray for wisdom for them, as they look for ways to get a full-time broadcast license.

• Pray for Good News Community Radio in Durban, facing particular challenges at this time.

• Pray for ICASA, the licensing authority in South Africa, and those working there. They are facing particular challenges at this time, with the implementation of the new ECA legislation, and digital migration.

• Pray that they way will be opened for Community Radio in Botswana.

Swaziland - TWR

• Swaziland is expecting to receive a new HC-100 shortwave transmitter within the next couple of months. Pray for safe shipment of the transmitter and for the building renovations that are being made at the transmitter site to accommodate this transmitter. A work group is coming from the USA September 6-20 to help put a new ceiling in the transmitter hall. We are attempting to make positive air pressure and air condition the hall in order to keep out dirt, bugs and moisture so that the transmitters will operate more efficiently and we will have less downtime.

• Pray for Klaus & Katja Schiller and their three young children (Klaus is a transmitter engineer), who are on furlough in their home country of South Africa. They plan to return to the field in mid-September. Pray for more support to be raised, for safety in travel, for new contacts to be made and for some time to rest and be refreshed.

• Pray for Doug & Madeleen Schumacher (Doug is our finance director) as they plan for their upcoming furlough. They will be in their home country of South Africa during the months of October through December.

Norwegian Lutheran Mission

• Nous avons commencé la traduction de la série “Le chemin de la Justice” en langue Mahou, une langue de la Côte d’Ivoire. Priez pour que la traduction se passe bien et priez surtout pour que nous trouvions un Mahou chrétien qui puisse présenter la série à l’antenne.

• Nous souhaitons revenir à Abidjan pendant l’automne (l’équipe de la radio était basée pendant trois ans à Bamako, au Mali, à cause de la guerre en Côte d’Ivoire). Priez afin que Dieu nous guide dans ce processus.

IBRA Africa (East, Central & Southern)

• We praise the Lord with the team in Bukavu, DR Congo who received their new 500 W transmitter recently. The transmitter is a donation from HCJB Global and a replacement to the transmitter that was destroyed in the fire they had at the station a year ago. Now they are able to upgrade to full power again from the low power emergency transmitter they have used since the fire. Let us pray that listeners further away from Bukavu town now will be blessed by the station again.

• The last two weeks of July, IBRA engineer Andreas Aldervi conducted a two weeks music recording course using Protools equipments. Six students from IBRA studios in DR Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, as well as FEBA Zimbabwe attended the training. Let us praise the Lord together with the students who were very enthusiastic about their new skills. Let us pray that the enhanced quality on Christian music in our programs will bring more people to know the Lord, and bring Glory to his name.

• Pray for the seminar/workshop on media and church growth that will be held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia August 11 – 12. The seminar is a first of its kind and will focus on bringing denominational and church leaders together with media leaders to work out a strategy on how to use media more effectively in planting new churches and help existing churches grow both in quantity and quality. Sune Elofson from the Swedish Pentecostal Mission and Jan-Erik Nyman will be the facilitators for this seminar. The actual seminar will be followed by discussions with various groups of leaders in order to make sure effective strategies are actually in place and will be implemented.

• Pray also for the construction of the Media College that has started at Habari Maalum in Arusha, Tanzania. The project faces numerous unforeseen challenges. Pray that God will lead to wise decisions and wide open doors where the passage looks narrow. 

• The promotion of the one year Media Production diploma course of 2009 will begin within August. Pray that God will lead “the right” students to attend. We want to have people with a calling to serve God through media, and who can use their acquired skills to make an impact to their communities and nations. The course is part of the Habari Maalum College program.

• Praise the Lord for the new chatt-room that the Somali team has started. It has created a lot of interest, and drawn many into discussions about faith in Jesus Christ. Pray for wisdom for team members as they spend much of their free time in evenings to try to share the most precious thing in their lives over the Internet.

• September 10 – 12 a seminar for media people on Biblical World View will be held in Nairobi, Kenya. Africa by Radio and Samaritan Strategy are the organizers. The seminar has a goal to open the eyes of media producers on how our world view shapes our values, ideas and behavior. How destructive values from the world view in society at large have crept into our minds as Christians and prevented us from being the salt and light that we are supposed to be. Only when our values are founded firmly in the Bible can we bring about ideas and behavior that is constructive and that brings development to broken societies. Pray that we as media people will understand how we can use the impact of our tools to bring about more effective change to our communities and nations.

• We are still facing challenges with regards to community licenses here and in urgent need of prayer. The latest statement I saw in the Botswana Daily News was that the community licenses were shelved for now, I am yet to find out from the ministers office (what developments might occur).

• I am facing manpower challenges as I train volunteers who then move on for further studies. We are revising the kind of volunteers we bring in to reduce this inconvenience.

Pray that God will teach us all so that Africa is impacted with His values and society transformed to reflect His image and likeness. Pray for strength and wisdom for those who are teaching.

• Pray for the regional meeting taking place 17-19 September in Lusaka, Zambia. Pray that God will bring together many in this region to meet together so that we can discuss the strategic use of radio to cover the region and continent with the gospel.
